Santa sessions were so much fun in the studio this year. We made wonderful memories with all the families that came out to see Santa and it was definitely the highlight of our season. Everyone’s session turned out adorable but there is a silly side to Santa that we just have to share as well.
From Santa’s silly expressions to our little girl who couldn’t quite figure out how to “sleep” on command, these were all priceless moments. My favorites, though, are definitely the babies. And if you look closely you will see the moment one little baby realized Santa was sitting behind her. Maybe you had to be there to appreciate it, but in a nutshell, we had finally calmed baby down after a bit of crying, and got her happy and content on the floor in front of the tree. Once she had forgotten about the big man in the red suit and was fixated on her ornament, we “snuck” Santa back into his chair to get some boots into the portrait. It was all going well, and everyone was chatting while we were finishing up pictures when Santa chimed into the conversation and suddenly alerted baby that she was not alone on set, and inevitably threw her right back into crying. Santa knew immediately what he did and couldn’t contain his laughter.
It’s moment’s like these that keep me loving photography, because they’re real, and they’re honest, and they’re just plain funny. (Don’t even ask about Jaxon, because we’re not even sure what was going on there, but we can’t stop cracking up about it.)
